Located between Kailua-Kona and Keauhou, convenient to both. This is a great location for experiencing the island, from the great beaches to the North, to Kealakekua Bay and the Volcano to the South. In 5 minutes by car. you can be in Kailua Town (with its pier, restaurants, art galleries and shopping), upscale Keauhou, or at the famous Kahaluu Beach Park (snorkeling beach with turtles) and Disappearing / Magic Sands Beach. Keauhou and the Sheraton are equally close.
At 660 feet, this is considered by most to be the perfect elevation because it is warm enough to know you're in Hawaii, but doesn't get too hot. (We also have 7 ceiling fans.) And we almost always have sunny days.
We are not the typical vacation rental, because we live here several months a year and treat it like our own home.
Many of our guests report that they had all kinds of plans to visit places around the island, but they actually spent a lot of their time at the house, floating in the pool, hanging out on the lanai and watching the sunset, not wanting to leave. This is the experience we try to provide.
Certainly there are many vacation rentals you can choose from, but we hope you will choose ours so we can share this magical place with you. There are places that are less expensive, but we have yet to see something comparable to ours in terms of views, amenities, luxury, and style, for less.
Don't forget all the ways we will save you $ on your vacation! You can cook your meals at home, and you will have no rental costs for beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, boogie boards, coolers and snorkel gear.
Note: We do not allow parties; only guests staying at the home, and others as pre-authorized.

The place was amazing. We really enjoyed it. As to suggestions, I'm having to dig deep to find anything to improve. Everything was covered from night lights to Tupperware, beach accessories, coolers, etc. Kitchen was fully equipped with more than enough dishes for everyone to eat, cook, bake, etc, and never run out. Convenient location to shops and attractions.
The house was perfect for our family group of 9. Beautiful location and very user friendly. Short drive to Kailua where all the activities for my niece’s wedding took place. Cindi is an excellent host and was very easy to work with. We would definitely stay there again when in Kona.
We just stayed a week in this beautiful, well-maintained home. The view from all of the rooms is spectacular. From the comfort of the deck, we saw whales putting on a splash-fest. As for the home itself, this house is completely stocked with everything you need. There are plenty of towels, linens, beach towels, and a fully-stocked kitchen. You can tell the owners take a lot of pride in this home as care was put into all the details in this house. The pool was awesome and there were lots of toys to keep the kids busy every afternoon. The owners responded immediately the few days we asked to have the heater turned on. We hope to stay here again for future visits. The location is also perfect. It’s a quick 10 minute drive into the tourist downtown of Kona and also a 10-30 minute drive to some awesome snorkeling spots. The location up on the hillside made for quiet nights and we were still able to hear the ocean. We enjoyed a wonderful family vacation (5 adults and 2 kids) here and would highly recommend this house for your future vacation!
This house was perfect for our two families of 4 to stay in. We even had one extra with us, making us 9 people. The house is fully equipped with anything you could need. We took full advantage of everything in the kitchen and cleaned every night. Then we also worked our way through the large collection of beach and sand toys. We really did not need to buy anything extra!! The only thing to note is that if you want to pool a certain temperature, and warmer than the solar provides (which was around 80 when we were there) then you do have to pay for the extra pool heating. Overall a great experience and great communication with Cindi, the owner. If we came back to Kona, we would definitely stay here again!
We spent five nights at this home - 2 families of 4 (4 kids and 4 adults). It was the perfect fit. Enough room for everyone - which is a big deal when you are trying to please that many people. The owners are amazing to work with and they were literally able to take care of any issues that arose immediately. They were responsive, kind, and super helpful. They have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable from making lists in the kitchen of where everything is, to a helpful binder with information on the house and the area. They had everything you could ever need for the beach - which is a huge plus when you have 4 kids who want to spend all day at the beach or the pool. It is an awesome location as well - a quiet friendly neighborhood super close to everything on the Kona side of the island - including Costco which is a huge benefit. I also have to say that for someone who loves to cook - and we cooked a lot during the week with 8 of us - this house had the best assortment of quality pots, pans, utensils and kitchenware. The owners have absolutely thought of everything that you could ever need during your stay. We will absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone I know who is headed to the Big Island. This home is a rare treasure for VRBO!!!
Second stay at this beautiful home. This house has EVERYTHING you could possibly need. The kitchen is so stocked there is a guide to help you find what you're looking for. The view is breathtaking. Highly recommend!
We spent 12 days at this house for the holidays, Christmas and New Years. My parents were so excited to have the whole family together in one house (we are 6 adults and 4 kids). The house offers everything you need and more. We could make meals, pack lunches to take to the beach, or a quick drive to great restaurants, it was perfect. They also have beach towels, boogie boards, and coolers available to use which was wonderful. The nights were a cooler, so the pool was a bit chilly. The great thing is we simply called to owners to request the pool heater turned on and once the water warmed a bit we definitely enjoyed the pool. The sunset from the house is perfect! Many evenings we would stay to watch the sunset before we went out to dinner. The view from the house at midnight on New Years Eve was absolutely amazing. We could see fireworks everywhere!
Our visit to Kona home was amazing... we absolutely loved the Big Island and can't wait to return. My family and I spent a week in this amazing home which was outfitted with every possible necessity. Our only complaint would be hot it was... luckily we only experienced this discomfort for 2 days... our arrival day, which we thought because the house was locked up on our arrival... but 5 days later we had another heat wave... the house didn't start to cool down until after 10pm. We would have stayed in the pool at night but refrained as requested to do due to noise traveling at night and out of respect for the neighbors. Anyway, those 2 days didn't spoil our trip and we were very happy with the house!!!
Nice rental property. Close to Kailua town. A little warm at night but it has a great view of the ocean.
Owner Response
I'm glad you enjoyed the house! Thanks for clarifying via email that the warmth was in living room in late afternoon as the sun set. Yes, that is the flip side to a west facing ocean view. The sunsets are great but the sun comes inside the house when it's low. I'm glad it cooled down after the sun set. I would advise people to keep the solar shades closed in that room in the late afternoon, and hang out in the rooms that have more overhang. Or it's a great time for a swim!
Had the whole family here and never felt on top of each other. The home has every amenity you could ask for other than air conditioning. Had some pretty humid days while we were here but we went to various beaches during our stay and of course once you are closer at the water, the breeze picks up. Toured Hawaii Volcanoe State Park one day and went through a lava tube, saw steam vents, craters and the vast volcanic area. Then back to the house for great sunsets.
We were two families who easily shared this beautiful home for our winter holiday. There was lots of space to have our own quiet time and also many spaces where we could be together. Having stayed in many VRBO accommodations one of the things I liked the most was the adequate storage in this home. The kitchen especially had many cupboards to store our food which I rarely find in a rental. It was also extremely well stocked with every tool and appliance we could hope for. The view is amazing and we all admired it during all hours of the day. Our children spent many hours enjoying the large pool and we really appreciated the large stack of beach towels! One highlight of our trip was watching the many many fireworks from the decks on New Year's Eve, definitely a sight to see! Thank you Cindi for being so helpful and easy to communicate with.
This large 3 bedroom plus den with sofa bed was perfect for us, our 2 daughters and their families. What makes this home great for a large number of people are all the different spaces within and outside the house. There was lots of different spaces for everyone to be together as well as spend time in smaller groups. Plenty of room for several people to work in the large kitchen at the same time and it was very well stocked. People have been kind to leave spices and other condiments which was helpful to us.....we in turn left many items that wouldn't spoil as well. Our only suggestion would be to have a larger cutting board. We couldn't ask for a better location for getting to all activities. We wouldn't hesitate to book this house again in the future. Lynda and Jerry
This is a great place to stay while vacationing in Kailua-Kona. The house is comfortable, great view and pool, furnishings are quality, kitchen is really nice for those who like to cook. Many things that you would need for vacation are already there (e.g. coolers, boogie boards, beach chairs). Access is easy to Kailua downtown and to grocery stores (we used Safeway in one direction and KTA Super Store at the KeauHou Shopping Center in the other). You will see more of the locals shopping at KTA, pretty reasonable prices for Hawaii. If you have a really low clearance car, take it easy going into the driveway. The owner (Cindi is who I communicated with) is very prompt and responsive.
I had the best time staying at the Kona View House for a week with my husband, our 2 month old son, my parents and my brother. This home was exactly perfect for us- loved the chef's kitchen, the pool, the access to the outdoors from every bedroom. All of the finishes and furnishings were high quality and made our stay very comfortable. They had everything we needed for our son- a pack n play, bouncy chair, and a high chair (though he's too little for that still). And the views! Just stunning. Loved the house, loved the location with easy access to beaches/ snorkeling/ restaurants. Cindi was very helpful before our trip, answering my many emails and requests for recommendations, and responded quickly to questions while we were staying at the property. It's clear that the owners take very good care of this property! Would gladly stay here again.
This was our second time staying in this beautiful house perched up high in Kona. After our last stay we were determined to try to get back to "The Kona House " as it became known in our many retellings of our time in Hawaii. We thought it was perfect last time but discovered the renovations in the kitchen had improved on perfection. The house is spacious yet homely. It is clean and comfortable. Our hardest decisions each day as we woke up happy to still be on holiday in this lovely house were, do we go out and explore the island or stay home and enjoy the house? We did a bit of both. We drove to the summit of Mauna Kea ( a must do ), drove to the Volcano National Park ( looks like Mars ), to various small beaches to snorkel and to Captain Cook for Antique shopping. Other days we stayed home and lazed by the pool with a book, sat on the Lanai and watched through binoculars, whales breaching in the ocean down below or cooked local fish and steaks on the bbq. I can not recommend this house highly enough and hope we will be returning again sometime soon. In the meantime I will daydream about our time in "The Kona House".
Owner Response
Thanks for the review, Alison, and for sharing the highlights of your trip. We are so happy you could come back again! For those who don't know, "homely" has a different meaning to the British & Aussies than Americans :-) It means "cozy and comfortable, as in one's own home" as opposed to "an unattractive person."
Overall, an excellent house in a great location near downtown Kona. Property was excellent across the board. For families with small childrens be aware there are a bunch of stairs (upstairs is a master bedroom, family/tv room is half-level below, then two bedrooms a few level below). We put up a small baby gate and had no issues. Both lower level bedrooms open to the pool, so baby monitors reach out to the pool area.
My family and I stayed for a week in this home. Some highlights...the main lanai was very comfortable and a wonderful place to read a book (even on a rainy afternoon), the kitchen has been newly remodeled and we loved cooking on the induction range, the sunsets were quite stunning. We took many day trips from the home to Volcano, Mauna Kea, coffee farms, and Kohala beaches. I really love Kona overall, from the access to great snorkeling beaches, quaint nearby towns, and really amazing fruit and coffee farms. We thought the location was very good and it was a quick drive to the store for food or any forgotten items. In fact, we tried to pack light knowing we could pick up anything we needed in the main shopping area in Kona. One thing visitors should be aware of is that you do have to be relatively quiet when outside day and night. Loud voices carry in this area, which is probably the case with most Kona homes unless you go into the higher elevations where properties are sometimes larger. Overall, I would certainly recommend this home for a comfortable and relaxing vacation.
Owner Response
Thanks for the review! We are so happy that you enjoyed our home, and really appreciate your aloha for the neighbors.
Completely as advertised, except the view from the deck is something that cannot be described by photos or words. We had a wonderful week at the home, and in Kona. The home was very spacious, airy, clean, well decorated, and had all of the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Even the sofa bed was comfortable. The owner was very thoughtful and kind throughout the entire rental process and stay; hurricane warnings and all. She was very quick in responding to emails and questions. Well worth the rental.
My family of 7 saw this property and the reviews online and quickly booked it for our 2 week adventure on the Big Island this August 2016 - we were thoroughly pleased! I cannot say enough about the home (clean, quality, spacious and all the things you want in a home while on vacation with family and friends - including an amazing sunset each and every day!) ......and the Big Island, which words cannot really describe so I will try in a few sentences. Having a home like this puts you at the centre of what the island has to offer in our view (note - this island is BIG so you will have to be ready to drive to see things - OR - just relax at home with the amazing views). In one hour you are on the most amazing beach (like Beach 69 and Kua Bay) or in 25 minutes you are at TWO STEP Beach snorkeling with amazing coral, fish and a few dolphins if you are lucky (note, many pay for boats to take you here but from the house, just drive it!). Also, in 2 hours, you can be at Volcano Park (stop at the bakery at the southern most point for amazing treats on your way https://www.bakeshophawaii.com/) for one of the most amazing sites you will see. A hour drive East from there (so yes, a long day on the road 3 hours out and 3 hours back) is the Kapoho Tide Pools (http://www.to-hawaii.com/big-island/beaches/kapohotidepools.php) which are amazing (try to get into the gated community to get to the secluded Champagne Ponds). Remember to also check out Mauna Kea (https://www.ifa.hawaii.edu/mko/) where you can truly be above the clouds for sunset or sunrise with the most incredible stars you will see up close (including the Milky Way with your own eyes). I could go on but will stop - if you are looking for a great home on an incredible island, don't hesitate, just book it!
We had a fantastic week in Kona. The house is beautiful with amazing views over the coast. We enjoyed magnificent sunsets from the house every evening. The house is decorated with a lovely Hawaiian feel and had everything that you would need. The check-in and check-out worked really well. Big Island is one of the most amazing places we have visited. Every 10 miles that we drove the climate and landscape changed. The far north had scenery like Scotland with rain and mist. 20 minutes later we were in dessert and 94 degrees. Hilo had lush tropical landscapes along with the area close to where Captain Cook landed. As I come from Yorkshire it was quite moving that he had discovered Hawaii so far from home! A fantastic holiday that I can highly recommend. Craig.
This lovely home was perfect for our family of 8 adults. The house was stocked with everything we needed for our week vacation. It was so nice to have all the toys for our beach days including chairs, towels, umbrellas, coolers and more. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals when we didn't want to go out including a grill by the pool. The location was great and central to all of our exploring and close to town if we needed to go shopping. The owners were always prompt in returning e-mails and quickly refunded our deposit. We would love to rent here again on a return trip to the Big Island. I was worried that there was no air conditioning but opening all the windows and using the fans cooled the house off nicely. Thank you Cindi, Michelle Hollis
Owner Response
Thanks Michelle! Great to hear from you. We love happy guests :-)
We stayed for 6 days in this residence! Great home with lots of amenities a bit outdated but great for a big family. Warnings: neighbors can be really loud and you can be overcharged for cleaning! You are charged over $300 for cleaning and on top of that they can keep a portion of your deposit if the cleaning crew think they need to do their job! Make sure you return the place as you got it if you want your deposit back fully!
Owner Response
So happy to hear your family enjoyed the home. We, like most Vacation Rental owners, collect a security deposit to cover excess cleaning and damage. In 10 years, you are the 2nd from whom we have withheld anything. In your case the cleaners spent several extra hours cleaning things like play-doh in the carpet, and charged us $100 extra, which is exactly what we withheld. In our house rules we recommend contacting us immediately when any neighbors are being loud, so we can contact the owners who can solve the problem. Something to keep in mind on future visits.
A wonderful house and stay.
A wonderful house and stay. We felt v lucky to find Cindi's place. We were unable to confirm our trip to Hawaii until quite late and when I looked for accommodation just 2 months before our planned trip to Hawaii, many of the best places on AirBnb had already gone. Fortunately for us, Cindi had just started advertising her place on AirBnb and was available for our dates. After seeing the photos, we were sold and a few weeks later we were gazing out over the house's beautiful pool to a Kona sunset. The house itself is really nice. Great open space, cooling, fully equipped and modern kitchen. Has a huge TV, super fast internet and all the things that you'd need if you wanted to stay connected. We ended up spending a lot of time in the open area which looks out onto the pool (which is solar heated) and over Kona. The west facing direction and huge open spaces / views were really a highlight - feeling all the benefits of Hawaii's beautiful scenery and weather, combined with the convenience of a modern house. For our stay, it was two couples but the house could easily accommodate 6 and perhaps a couple more. We found the location to be perfect. It's situated in hills of a residential area, so really quiet, peaceful and safe. Yet it's only 5 mins from Starbucks / Walmart / Safeway / Target, and about 10 mins to the beach. From there we took a few day trips - over to tropical Hilo, south to the Volcano National park and South Point. Each about a 2 hour drive. As a host, Cindi was really well organized, left lots of information (restaurant info, guide books, etc) and was easily reachable. There's a few instructions for the house that are worth taking the 5 mins to read properly - to ensure you leave the place in just as great condition for the next guests and to get your deposit back. Overall, easily deserves 5* in our opinion and a great chance to snap up availability while it remains fairly unknown on Airbnb (which I suspect won't be the case for long).
I often rent beautiful homes different places in the United States, for family vacations. I must stay for the total package of what this home, view and pool had to offer, we hope to come here on a regular basis. For 11 years we have been having a summer vacations in Hawaii (often in Maui). This is our second visit to Kona and we love the fact that it has less people, and also easy to get a table without a wait at many of the great restaurants. This home changed how we vacation in Hawaii. We only went to the beach one time. We wanted to stay and enjoy the pool with this amazing ocean view. We often eat most of dinners out, and we only ate one dinner out. It was so beautiful and peaceful at this home, we would bbq most of our meals and just sat at the downstairs patio and enjoyed the view. We loved that no matter what time of day we enjoyed the pool, it was always warm enough. The huge kitchen had everything we could want, and we also loved the new kitchen bar to sit at (while someone else was doing the cooking). Loved all the nice decorations in the home. This home was about a five minute ride from the shops and great restaurants. I would say (except for sleeping) we spent 90% of our time at the house in this amazing backyard, either in the pool or just sitting the chairs/loungers and enjoying the view. Thank you!
There are so many wonderful things to say about this place I’m not sure where to start. First, the house is awesome. It’s beautifully decorated with a design that allows plenty of room to gather as a family, yet allows an escape for quiet time as each of the bedrooms has its own Lanai. I found the lanai off our bedroom to be a perfect place to read or just relax and enjoy the view. You wake up in the morning and the opportunities are endless, as the location of the home is central to pretty much everything and anything you would like to do. We found many days we just wanted to stay home - the elevation of the property nearly guarantees the weather to be not too warm or too cold! It was convenient to cook our own food and enjoy it outside. We found the kitchen to be organized and well stocked with lovely dinnerware and high end cookware. I could go on and on… I do have to make special mention of the pool, though. It was a huge hit with all three of the generations in our family. The solar heat is great, but if you find you would like the water even warmer, you can, for a small additional fee, have Cindi turn on the pool heater. We couldn’t get our grandkids out of there! At night, sitting poolside, enjoying the pool lights and the lights of Kailua-Kona, you just can’t help but relax and let go of life’s worries. Lastly, I need to stress how wonderful Cindi is! She is such a pleasure to work. Cindi, thank you for our holiday perfect! We look forward to our next vacation with you.
Owner Response
Thank you for the wonderful review. You were a lovely guest and we look forward to having you back soon!
Our extended family stayed at the home earlier this February. Such a nice place. Clean, secure, well situated and immediately felt like home. The house easily allows for enough space for 4 adults and 3 children. The kitchen was big enough to accommodate the main cook and 2 assistants too. The master bedroom mattress was exceptionally comfortable and no one had any trouble sleeping. After some time we found the faster routes to and from places so we didn't have to spend as much time on the #11 (painfully slow for visitors wanting to go north to Kua, Hapuna or other beaches. We've stayed at many VRBOs and this was right up there. In fact, we spend almost every dinner at home. Maybe a few more frying or sauté pans in the kitchen? B&B next door was super quiet as were the surrounding neighbours.
Owner Response
Thank you for your review, and happy to hear you enjoyed our home. We had just purchased additional skillets, so there should be about 5. Sometimes they get buried in such a large kitchen, so we'll look around and find where they went. The main highway north is under construction to add more lanes. Between town and Costco there is an upper road shortcut, and that's probably what you are referring to. For future guests, if you turn right on Henry, past the Walmart, that turns into this new road, Ane Keahokalole, which dead ends right above Costco. From there you can continue north on 11. Thanks for the tip Romeo!
Returned to Kona View House for another vacation, and wow, it just keeps getting better! We had an amazing time, and can't imagine staying anywhere else in Kona. The views, the house, the tropical landscaping, did I mention the views? Simply stunning. Loved the new open kitchen with breakfast bar, and had a hard time deciding whether to have our Mai Tai's there, or on the lanai. The kitchen has everything imaginable and is large enough for several cooks. The heated pool worked out great. Most days it was warm from the solar heat, but a few times we bought a few hours of extra heat at a very reasonable cost. We had a full house, but it never felt crowded, and everyone was very comfortable in their respective rooms. The location is perfect for exploring the Big Island including beaches, snorkeling, the volcano, and Kona Town. The owners are very helpful and easy to work with. You can't go wrong staying here.
We stayed at this lovely residence for two weeks in March this year. The location was excellent - so convenient and easy to find all the necessities. There were 8 of us together as a family (6 adults, 2 kids), and the size and layout was perfect...enough room for everyone to have their own space, yet remain close. The house and yard are very well maintained, and the owners were extremely helpful if anything was needed. The pool was wonderful! Having a heated pool when travelling with smaller kids is such a bonus. We made friends with the family that rented the place next door and their kids preferred our warmer pool. :) The view of the ocean from the lanais and pool deck were amazing! We spent most of our time at the house in the yard or in the pool. The kitchen is a great size, well equipped, and it was easy to cook for a group and all eat together. I would highly recommend this lovely home to anyone travelling to Kona and would stay there again in a heartbeat. It exceeded my expectations and I would recommend it to anyone.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. It is very important to us and we really appreciate it!
We stayed 6 weeks in this beautiful home. It was a very relaxing stay. I love the heated pool. I was in it every day. The house has everything you would need. It is beautifully furnished and decorated. It has gorgeous ocean views. It was so nice to have our own space to spread out in. It felt so much like home that my family and I didn't want to leave.
We recently stayed in Kona for the IM, and found the location of this home fantastic as if was not too far to drive into town, but far enough away for a peaceful, relaxing stay! Our family of 8 (with our 2 older children often visiting for meals) had plenty of space when we were home, many options for quiet spaces or meals, and of course we loved the pool, and watching sunset every night was just beautiful. The house is exactly as offered from the pictures, and the master bedroom (with renovated bathroom) is fantastic. We cooked many meals in the kitchen, and grilled downstairs often during our 10 day stay, and appreciated that many of the basic kitchen condiments were kept in the pantry! There was also a day home where the younger kids found the games and jigsaw cupboard, and had a great time, and the pool toys were available (to which we added a few more before we left!!) I would love to stay there again, especially during a quieter time in Kona, and would have no hesitation in recommending the property.

Thank you so much, Louise, for your wonderful review. We are thrilled to hear how great your Ironman stay was! It's great to be able to share our home with nice people like you from around the world. Every year we do more remodeling and add more amenities, and it's great to hear that it pays off. We hope to see you again some time!
I knew when I booked this house by the photos it was going to be lovely. Stepping through the front door did not disappoint. The house is beautifully furnished and decorated. I wanted to take home all the paintings and carved lights, bedheads and mirrors. So much room for our family of four. Our 2 teenage daughters had their own separate rooms, so no fighting,Yay. Loved sitting on the Lanai watching whales through the binoculars and ending the day with a gorgeous sunset. Our youngest loved the pool and swam almost daily. We loved the garden filled with tropical plants and geckos. Even had a friendly neighbourhood cat drop by.The kitchen was great to use, the laundry very useful. Shops and beaches about a 15 minute drive away. Your house made this little Aussie family very very happy. I cried when we had to leave, 9 days was not long enough. We hope to be back one day. Thankyou so much.
What more can I say about this beautiful property? The view and condition are exactly as described, and the owner was a pleasure to work with. If you're headed to the Kona coast, you will be well-served to stay at this excellent luxury with a world-class view.
This home was everything we had hoped for. Beautiful inside and out. The kitchen was fully stocked, the backyard and pool are perfect with an amazing view. The house had snorkel gear and boogie boards that we used almost everyday. Close to shopping and not far from wonderful beaches. This home is perfect! We loved it and will stay again soon.
This is the 5 year we've rented a home on Kona for Spring Break, and this home was by far the best we've rented. Everything is in good shape...pool is warm...view is fantastic from the entire home! Just wish there was a time machine on site, so we could stay longer. Had an issue with the coffee maker on the first day...sent email to owner and she replied within a few hours and allowed me to buy a brand new one...no questions asked.
We had a wonderful time during our stay. The home is very well-appointed and comfortable. The owners were very responsive and easy to communicate with. The heated pool was fantastic - even in the rain. :)
We had such a great time. The descriptions were not only accurate, it was even better then expected. The owners were very helpful and responded to inquiries quickly. We would definitely recommend it to a friend and would love to go again.
Fantastic views, warm pool, wonderful decks, gorgeous furnishings, great neighborhood, beach chairs, boogie boards, quality linens, fluffy towels, gourmet kitchen, perfect location, cute geckos, and wild turkeys to brighten our morning walks. After one glorious month in your awesome home we felt as if it were our own! Annie, our 9 year old grandaughter regularly asks, "Do you think someone is in our Kona house now?" Kona is delightful, near and far beaches beautiful, snorkel and body surfing close, and so much to see and do on the big island. We will definitely be back! We had a fantastic vacation and thank you so much for everything. It was truly "The Best"!!
There is not really much to add to the other reviews, so I will just say that this house was absolutely terrific in terms of location, amenities, condition, decor and price! There were seven of us and everyone was so comfortable. In case you need a 4th bedroom, I can tell you that the den worked really well as a bedroom for our teenager---nice and private--it really was the perfect floorplan for our group. Am recommending this house to anyone who wants to go to Kona!
Well, we (family of seven including 3 grandparents) reluctantly packed up and headed for home on Friday after a truly magical time at your beautiful abode! The house exceeded our expectations in every way possible (and I am a bit of neat freak and quite particular!). The kitchen was very well-equipped and the views were unbeatable – breathtaking! The kids, age 2 and 4, enjoyed the heated pool and neighbourhood walks, especially the turkeys!! As always, the geckos were a huge hit! Kona itself is such a special place and once again we found ourselves remarking on the perfect days in paradise. The house is so central yet pleasantly removed from the noise and busy atmosphere of downtown! Thank you so much for renting your home to us, you were most helpful – we would recommend it, without any hesitation!
We just want to start off by saying that the pictures of your home do not do it justice!!! This is so beautiful and amazing that we still can't believe we are here!! Thank you again for sharing this with others. Anyone that is lucky enough to come and see this place will instantly feel the magic of Hawaii. Thank you for making our first trip to Hawaii an unforgettable one!!!!
Our stay was wonderful. The house is in a convenient location in Kona just a quick drive to shops and the coastline. The pictures were exactly what we expected and hoped for. Having balconies to watch the sunset on was great. The patio/deck was our favorite place to hang out. The house was well equipped and didn't leave us needing anything. It was also very clean and tidy.
I've rented quite a number of homes and condos through VRBO over the years with travel all over the Western US and Canada. This home stands alone in being the nicest I've had the pleasure of visiting so far. The location relative to everything in the Kona area is superb - just far enough away to enjoy the quiet but so close a trip to the store is no big deal. The views are incredible. I found my way to the lanai every morning to enjoy watching the sun make it's way up the hill and every night to enjoy the skyline along the coast. The home is beautifully decorated with very tasteful art and comfortable furnishings. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and actually ate a couple of meals in despite some of the best dining around being within minutes. Recommendations in the guest book were spot on. We particularly enjoyed Holuakoa Gardens just up the road - what an incredible place! We were on the island for my daughter's wedding and had several guests stop by during our visit. Everyone of them was simply gasping with delight at the place and I have forwarded the location to many of them who have indicated this is where they will stay on their next visit. I give this home 6 stars! Thank you Cindi and Glen!
Beautifully furnished, incredible view, wonderful pool!! A very relaxing experience and the Geckos were a wonderful highlight...hiding behind pictures and window coverings, running across walls...they were so cute and brought a smile to our faces daily:) We will definitely return!!
This house was wonderful! The view, the location, the spaciousness, the geckos :)...It was just as described. We loved the coolers, beach chairs, and boogie boards that were provided. Hard to haul those items on a plane and nice not to spend vacation $ on them. The kitchen was well stocked and the full size washer/dryer came in handy. The owners were easy to work with and also provided many good guidebooks and great recommendations. Did I mention the view? We named the cozy little deck off the dining room the "Clubhouse" and it was my favorite spot. I'd sit on one of the bar stools every night with a tropical beverage watching the sunset. The only "complaint" I have...I didn't think the pool was warm enough since it was advertised as heated. I would stay in this house again with no hesitation. I highly recommend it!
Glen and Cindi, thanks for letting us stay at your beautiful home. We truly enjoyed our stay. The kids never grew tired of swimming in the pool, and my wife and I enjoyed just hanging out poolside on your beautiful deck. The panoramic views of Kona and beyond from your home were amazing. Your home was warm and inviting, beautifully decorated, and always a pleasure to come back to after a day's worth of activities. I enjoyed taking strolls around the pleasant, hillside neighborhood in the early mornings of the day. The kids enjoyed chasing geckos around the house, while wife enjoyed relaxing, reading, and taking in the coziness of being at home. All in all, we enjoyed every bit of our stay here and hope to come back and visit you, again, soon.
We had a wonderful stay at your home. Everything was as described! We spent most of the time we were there on the lanai amazed at the views and astounding sunsets! House has everything you need to enjoy your stay; coolers, beach towels, kitchen gadgets. Thank you, Glen and Cindi for letting us stay in your home! (Oh and we loved the geckos!)
We stayed at the Kilohana house for 3 weeks in February/March. The pictures are completely accurate and unstaged. Beautifully decorated and furnished, the house is equipped with all the necessities and so much more. Watching the Winter Olympics on the 62" television was almost like being there, and the view from the lanai (and every room) was mesmerising. Great location for doing everything but far enough away to be safe and serene. When you venture out, everything you need for daytrips and the beach is there for you. It's like having a holiday home of your own. We wouldn't stay anywhere else on the Big Island. Thank you Cindi and Glen.
We just returned from five glorious days at the Kilohana House. It was everything we could want for a perfect vacation. Every detail is thought of from the kitchen accessories to the pool toys to movies, games and books. After a day exploring the coast or shopping in town, watching the sunset from the pool was ending to a perfect Hawaiian day. This was our most relaxing vacation ever and choosing this home was the smartest decision we made. You will not be disappointed!
The "Kona View House" is an exceptional home with extraordinary, breathtaking views. One minute on the lanai or by the pool and you simply feel your worries melt away. We have stayed at this home multiple times and there is a reason! It is the perfect place to relax, re-connect and it’s convenient to everything you need. The recent improvement and upgrades have made this home even more remarkable. We count ourselves fortunate that we have the opportunity to stay at such a lovely home. I highly recommend it for those who want a great value, peace and quiet, with all the modern conveniences. It’s romantic for those who want to be alone or perfect for those with a family who want a little something for everyone. We love the Big Island—its Hawaiian charm and personality. If you want to experience how to live “aloha” this is your place. It’s truly a dream home and the reason why our vacation was so memorable. We had the time of our lives!

We had a fantastic vacation because of the beautiful home you provided. Six of us (all family) arrived for a wedding and enjoyed all the extras that this house has to offer. The view is amazing and watching the sunset every night was a special treat. Every little attention to detail in the home was more than anyone could ask for. Thank you again for all you provided and the opportunity to stay in your beautiful home.
Wow!!! What a GREAT house!!! So tastefully decorated and comfortable. THe pool is fantastic. True Kama'aina living. Makes ya just want to hang by the pool and drink Mai Tais from the tiki bar all day. And the privacy is fantastic. Beets the heck out of staying at a resort! Amber
